A sneak peek at our Xmas ‘09 lettering…

September 30th, 2009

Our new range of wooden lettering for Christmas 09 will be available very soon to buy on the website – everyone’s working like troopers at the minute getting the stock levels built up, photos taken, uploaded to the website etc.

But we’ve a sneak peek to show you of one of the products…this promo postcard has just been sent to the printers, and Ali’s little bubba looks so cute in it, we just had to share it with you:

And we’re diggin’ that reindeer hat!

Edited 1st Nov to add that our christmas wooden lettering is now available to buy via the website!

We love these….

Anyone a fan of Desperate Housewives? We noticed some fab wall lettering on a recent rerun of the last season of the Housewives. We’ve got some screen shots here…it’s Susan in her new job as a junior school Art teacher…

We think the letters might be pvc rather than wood – the mouting brackets (you can kind of see them in the photo below) are commonly used with plastic signage. They look amazing though, we absolutely love how the thin letters sitting out from the wall creates an illusion of depth.

You can create a similar look using our Plain font letters as shown in the photo below – we don’t have the mounting brackets, but this is something we’re most definitely going to look into, will keep you posted!

Our wooden letters spelling out PLAY are shown here in 10 inch Plain font. To create your own set, click here on the website, and just type in your letters and choose from our huge selection of fonts, colours and patterns to create the look you’d like. And don’t forget, if you want to go bigger than the 12 inch size offered on the site, we can do this! Just drop us an email or give us a call with your requirements.

From WoW to Wowzers!

September 27th, 2009

We thought maybe our customer was having fun with Kirsty Allsop’s WOW letters idea when this order came in:

wowzers

However, it turns out they were a gift for Rachel Williams’ cousin, who apparently invented the word “wowzers.”

Rachel explains “I ordered the word “wowzers” as a birthday present for my cousin. It’s a word she thinks she invented – we all use it now to describe crazy situations to express shock like . . . . . “WOWZERS” there is alot of vodka in this drink!!! -she loved the present!”

We’ve no idea if Rachael’s cousin really invented the word wowzers, any ideas, just post a comment!

A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!

We had a phone call from a customer recently (the afternoon before she was due to go to hospital for a C-section!), wondering why we didn’t do animal print patterned wooden letters. Well, why not indeed? We’re pleased to announce our new range of animal print patterns is now available via our design-your-own letters wizard. Sophie above is shown in Plain font, uppercase 8 inch size, price £5.99 per letter.

Baby Max was born next day as planned (congratulations Julia!)

Here are the wooden wall letters we made for Max (font is Dohnut, size 10 inch lowercase)…apologies for the bad camera flash on the photo.

And, while we’re on the subject of little boys called Max and wild things, any fans of Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild things Are”, be sure to go see the movie adaptation, out in the cinemas next month.
We can’t wait!

WOW!

September 20th, 2009

We must admit, we were rather perplexed when we recently received a spate of orders for the word “WOW”.

It’s not a word we’d made before, and not something we’d ever considered putting on a wall. But, it turns out the lovely Kirsty Allsop featured wooden lettering spelling out “WOW” in her recent TV series Kirsty’s Homemade Home.

We didn’t make the wooden letters featured in Kirsty’s show, but they do have wow factor!

Here’s just some of the variations our customers came up with using our fonts and colours:

Sweetie Home Logo

September 18th, 2009

We were contacted recently by Laura from Sweetie Home to make their logo from painted wood for a trade show.

Sweetie Home’s logo:

Here’s what we came up with – the font for “Sweetie” was custom cut from a vector file sent by the client, and the letters were mounted on a backboard as requested:

Laura very kindly sent us some photos from the show, thanks Laura, we hope the show went really well for you!

If you’re interested in getting wooden letters custom cut, either for a logo, or you have a font, size or pattern in mind that we don’t offer via our design your own wooden letters system, do get in touch, and we’ll do our best to help!
