Just a couple of pics of one of our recent projects – we’ve worked with English Heritage several times in the past, and our most recent work for them is these large gold and silver letters for their Christmas Trails at Framlingham Castle and Audley End House.

English Heritage have an array of festive family days out where children of all ages can explore and discover the magic of Christmas past and present.  With Santa, story telling, reindeer trails, pantomimes, carol singing, traditional crafts and hands-on activities, it all sounds fab. Anyone at Framlingham Castle or Audley End House keep an eye out for our letters!!

‘Tis (almost) the season…

Our new range of wooden lettering for Xmas ‘09 is now available to buy via the website!

When we first made Christmas wooden letters a few years ago, we made individual painted NOEL letters, which at that time were really quite hard to find. Now though you can buy them everywhere from B&Q to ebay! So this year we’ve created some  lettering that’s a bit more quirky and unusual.

The “its Christmas” in particular has been designed very much with the aesthetics of the fonts in mind. We’ve juxtaposed traditional serif, Art Deco, ornate curlicue, and utilitarian blocky fonts, played round with the sizes, and the result is an original piece of contemporary Christmas decor.

This years Noel letters are script style, cut from one piece, rather than the more conventional individual letters. Much more of a nod to the traditional here, and if you do want to buy individual NOEL letters, you could buy the 4 letters via our free-standing letters page, and we’re also offering them unpainted here on the website.

Our “Let it Snow” with the big snowflake O is fun! It’s finished with an iridescent glitter, which doesn’t show up very well in the photos, but looks fab, especially with candles or fairy lights glittering on it. Oh, and everyone whose seen it ends up with the old Dean Martin song stuck in their head. Altogether now “Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful….”
